Social Worker – Kinship & Fostering Team, Herefordshire, £24.37 – £30.57 hourly. Are you eager to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people? We are seeking a talented Social Worker with a strong foundation in Children’s Services, specifically in Kinship and Fostering. You’ll work full-time, 37 hours a week, on a 3-month contract, contributing to the stability and quality of placement support while earning a competitive hourly wage.

What you will do:

  • Assess Connected/Kinship Foster Carers and potential Special Guardians, providing comprehensive and analytical reports within required deadlines.
  • Support and supervise approved connected foster carers, enhancing placement quality and stability through a collaborative approach with colleagues and services.
  • Engage in safeguarding practices with diligence and a strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to Kinship care.
  • Conduct complex assessments for Court/Foster Panel to deliver well-rounded support to children and caregivers.
  • Provide ongoing support to Special Guardians post-order, enriching the lives of children and enhancing their future opportunities.

Essential: You must be a fully qualified social worker (SW Degree, DipSW, or equivalent), with at least 3 years of recent experience in a statutory role—ideally in Kinship & Fostering. Registration with Social Work England and a full driving licence with access to a car are also required.
