Based at Back Sneddon Centre, Back Sneddon Street, Paisley.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our professionally challenging and rewarding justice social work service. You will work with women at all stages of the justice system, conducting assessments and providing tailored interventions.

You will deliver a Justice Social Work service to women in custody or in the community, whether bailed or diverted, and charged with or convicted of a range of offences, including serious sexual and violent offences. You will also undertake training to achieve competency in risk assessment.

It is essential that you hold a BA (Hons) in Social Work or an equivalent qualification; have experience working with women in a justice setting, such as service user supervision, individual work, and co-working within a multi-agency context; possess knowledge of gender-based violence, abuse, and trauma; and demonstrate effective assessment, written, IT, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Additionally, you must be registered with the SSSC, capable of working as part of a specialist team, and able to work with a focused approach. You should be highly motivated, possess a positive attitude, have a flexible approach, and be committed to social work values and making full use of supervision.

It is desirable that you have a flexible approach to working evenings; experience in risk management, child and adult protection, delivering group work, writing court reports, and undertaking custody and community throughcare; and experience working with clients with diverse needs.

This post is exempt under the Equality Act 2010 (Schedule 9, Part 1, Paragraph 1); therefore, only female applicants will be considered.

As this role involves access to the ViSOR information system and participation in MAPPA cases, preferred candidates will be required to undergo Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) level 2. Ongoing review will be conducted in line with Home Office standards.
