Overview

We are currently seeking experienced and proactive Social Workers to join the Children's Front Door Team in Exeter, the central hub for safeguarding and child protection across Devon. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, multi-agency environment where your skills will directly support vulnerable children and families at the earliest point of intervention.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Act as the first point of contact for all safeguarding and child protection referrals within the county.
  2. Conduct timely risk assessments, ensuring prompt and appropriate interventions are put in place.
  3. Liaise with key stakeholders including health, police, education, and early help services to develop joint plans and strategies.
  4. Undertake strengths-based conversations with families to determine appropriate levels of support.
  5. Record, evaluate, and communicate findings clearly and professionally within statutory timeframes.
  6. Contribute to the development and improvement of Front Door services through feedback and team collaboration.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Qualified Social Worker with a recognised social work degree or equivalent.
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Substantial post-qualification experience in children's services, ideally in referral & assessment or similar frontline roles.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and statutory responsibilities.
  • Confident decision-maker with excellent analytical and communication skills.
