Job summary

Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking a Children’s Social Worker for the Front Door (MASH) based at Cable Plaza, Brierley Hill. The role involves fast-paced triage, safeguarding decisions, and multiagency collaboration to ensure timely, proportionate responses for children in need.

Open to Grade 9 and Grade 10 candidates; you will work with Police, Health, Education and Early Help, contributing to safety planning, risk analysis and high-quality case recording.

Qualifications

Children’s Social Worker – Front Door (MASH)

Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council,

Location: Cable Plaza, Waterfront West, Brierley Hill, Dudley. DY5 1 LW

Full time post: 37 hours per week

Open to both Grade 9 and Grade 10 candidates

Our Front Door is the first point of contact for children, young people, and who are in need of help and protection. We are transforming our service to ensure that every child receives a timely, proportionate, and effective response — and we are looking for a skilled, passionate social worker with excellent communication, analysis and decision-making skills to join our team and journey.

Open to both Grade 9 and Grade 10 Social Workers, you will play a key role in our Front Door, working alongside partners from Police, Health, Probation, Change Grow Live, Education and Early Help to ensure children are safe and supported and get the right support at the right time.

This role will require you to be able to confidently:
  • Screen and assess contacts and referrals, applying thresholds consistently and effectively.
