Job description

An exciting opportunity has become available for a qualified Social Worker to join the Fostering Service as an Assessment social worker. This role includes the completion of Connected Person Assessments and Special Guardianship assessments.

This is an exciting time to join Cardiff, which is an authority on the implementation journey that uses strengths-based practice in their approach to working with children and their families.

The suitable applicant must demonstrate that they meet the requirements for a Grade 8 social worker in the Fostering service, as described in the Job Description and Person Specification.

You will be responsible for supporting and supervising connected and kinship carers to ensure they meet the specific needs of children in their care. This may include conducting connected person assessments in collaboration with the child’s social worker and contributing to the child's care planning.

You will also be responsible for proposing a support plan for the carers that ensures any areas of vulnerability are mitigated through the provision of support services.
