What you will do:
- Provide a high-quality and effective social work service to meet the needs of vulnerable children and their families promptly and in accordance with statutory guidelines.
- Use the Family Safeguarding model to build on family strengths, assess needs, plan, and deliver targeted interventions.
- Foster meaningful relationships with children and young people to ensure their voices are heard and their experiences are understood.
- Collaborate with multi-agency colleagues and partners to ensure comprehensive engagement with children and their families.
- Lead and make independent decisions in complex situations where the risk of significant harm is involved.
- Conduct thorough assessments to identify and respond to needs and strengths, developing SMART plans that lead to clear outcomes.
- Demonstrate strong analytical and observational skills to ensure the child's voice informs all decision-making processes.
- Adhere to legislation and statutory guidance, challenging decisions where necessary.
- Ensure all safeguarding matters are handled efficiently and in line with child protection procedures, escalating as needed.
- Craft clear, analytical, and evidence-based reports and plans for various forums, including court proceedings.
Minimum Requirements:
- A recognised professional Social Work qualification (Degree/Masters/Post Graduate Diploma/Social Work fast track qualifying programme).
- Current Social Work England registration.
- Valid UK driving licence with the ability to travel countywide.
- Strong understanding of child development, parenting capacity, and risk factors.
- Knowledge of safeguarding laws, guidance, and protocols.
- Aware of issues relating to discrimination and equality.
