Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is recruiting a Social Worker to join the Family Help team in Melton Mowbray. You will work with families to provide intensive home-based support, using strengths-based and trauma-informed approaches to improve outcomes for children.

You will develop experience in CIN work, closely with Targeted Help teams, and undertake Section 7 reports to broaden professional development, with supervision and clear career pathways.

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work approved by the Social Work England (SWE) or equivalent.
• Registered with Social Work England.
• Experience across access/duty/intake, CIN, child protection, care proceedings and Looked-After Children.
• Ability to use performance indicators to monitor and improve performance.
• Ability to analyse information under pressure and report to the Team Manager.
• Experience with service users from diverse backgrounds.
• Full driving licence with access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Work with the whole family to offer practical help and build on strengths.
• Provide intensive, home-based support to families to improve outcomes for children.
• Engage with Targeted Help and Child in Need services and develop Section 7 reports when required.
• Maintain professional relationships through reflective supervision and ongoing training.
