Job summary

Essex County Council is seeking a qualified Social Worker for the Young People with Disabilities service (16–25) in Chelmsford. This permanent, full-time position involves frontline social work under Children’s and Adults’ legislation, managing a caseload including 16–17-year-olds and young adults up to 25.

The team operates from County Hall and offers a nine-day working fortnight for full-time frontline staff.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Social Work or equivalent.
• Registration with Social Work England.
• Knowledge of Professional Capability Framework (PCF) and Knowledge & Skills Statement (KSS).
• Proficiency in case recording and IT systems.

Responsibilities

• Engage in all social work functions under Children’s and Adults’ legislations.
• Carry caseload including 16–17-year-olds and young adults up to 25.
• Undertake assessments, reviews, and safeguarding actions.
• Manage care planning and court work as required.
