Job summary

Essex County Council is seeking a Social Worker for the Children with Disabilities service in Basildon. This permanent, full-time role offers a generous salary between £36,124 and £51,834 per year and a nine-day working fortnight for frontline staff.

Qualifications

Diploma or degree in social work and registration with Social Work England.
Demonstrable capability of practice in line with Professional Capability Framework.
Knowledge of PCF and Knowledge & Skills Statement (KSS).
Demonstrate ability to apply social work knowledge with emotional intelligence and analytical skills.
Ability to use IT systems and social work case recording tools.

Responsibilities

Manage a defined caseload to achieve positive outcomes for children and families.
Conduct enquiries, assessments and direct work with children in need, safeguarding and looked-after children.
Review cases to achieve permanency and safe care arrangements.
Collaborate with partners delivering early help and family support.
