Job Description
An exciting opportunity has risen for a qualified and motivated social worker to join our Multi Agency Screening Hub (MASH). As a key part of our front-line safeguarding response, you will play a critical role, assessing, analysing and making timely decisions to protect children and young people across Dundee. MASH is fast paced, dynamic environment where information sharing and professional curiosity are central to effective practice. Working alongside colleagues from health, police, education and other partners, you will triage referrals, assess risk and ensure families get the right support, at the right time. Working in a hybrid style, based at home and in a busy Multi Agency Screening Hub located at Seymour House. You will work full time, 37 hours per week. Requirements
You will have a Social Work Degree, CQSW, Dip SW, CSS (with appropriate option).
Responsibilities
You will work under the direction of the MASH Team Manager as part of the Multi Agency Screening Hub, which is part of Dundee's Integrated Children's Services; providing advice and guidance, leading and facilitating screening and assessment activities. Key responsibilities: Triage and screen all incoming child protection and child welfare referrals. Analyse risk using professional judgement, statutory guidance and multi-agency information. Assess the appropriate level of intervention. Make timely decisions and provide clear evidence-based rationale for all outcomes. Liaise with external agencies to gather and share information to inform safeguarding decisions. Contribute to the development of best practice within the team and across the service. Maintain accurate and up to date case records
The Individual
You will have experience of working and communicating effectively with children and families. You will have experience of working and communicating effectively with children and families. You will have the ability to undertake initial and comprehensive risk assessments, to work to fixed timescales and to relate positively with colleagues and staff from other agencies, with commitment to promotion of positive outcomes for children and young people. You must be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council within a specified timeframe. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check, prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
