Job summary

Stoke-on-Trent City Council is looking for adedicated Social Workerto join ourCorporate Parenting Young People’s 14-17 Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a dynamic and supportive team committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for our cared-for children and care leavers.

In this role, you will lead thePathway Planning process, ensuring that young people are fully supported in their transition to adulthood. You will provide high-quality advice, guidance, and practical support, helping them to realise their aspirations and reach their full potential.

You will play a crucial role in implementing thecorporate parenting principles, working closely with young people to provide them with stability, security, and opportunities to succeed.

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you will need

  • Social Work qualificationand registration with Social Work England
  • In-depth knowledge ofcare and pathway planning processes
  • Strong understanding oflegislationrelating to Cared-for Children and Care Leavers, including theChildren Act 1989and theChildren (Leaving Care) Act 2000
  • The ability to build positive and effective relationships with young people, families, and partner agencies
  • A flexible approach to working, adapting to the needs of young people and the service

To be considered for a position you must have a degree in Social Work or equivalent and be registered with Social Work England.
