Job Description:

We are seeking a Social Worker who can offer exceptional services to children eligible for adoption. We prioritize their well-being and the meticulous preparation of Child Permanence Reports. We need support for these children in care, ensuring a smooth transition into adoptive families.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct thorough assessments and prepare detailed Child Permanence Reports.
  2. Collaborate with the adoption team to identify suitable matches for children with adoptive families.
  3. Provide ongoing support to children in care, ensuring their needs are met and rights protected.
  4. Assist children in understanding their life stories and preparing for the transition to adoptive families.
  5. Develop and implement ‘Keeping in Touch’ plans post-adoption to maintain connections beneficial to the child’s well-being.
  6. Participate in team meetings and contribute to the team’s objectives.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. A degree in Social Work and registration with the relevant professional body.
  2. Proven experience in writing Child Permanence Reports.
  3. Knowledge of the adoption process and relevant legislation.
  4. Ability to work empathetically with children and understand their unique stories.
  5. Strong communication and team-working skills.
  6. Experience in working with small, supportive teams.
  7. Familiarity with therapeutic approaches beneficial for children in care.
