We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Social Worker to join the Children With Disabilities Team in Rotherham on a locum basis. Responsibilities

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced social worker who can operate independently while being a collaborative team player. You will support and work alongside your colleagues within the team, meeting the demands of the service which may require presence in the office for a minimum of three days per week.

  • Communicate effectively with children who are non-verbal and have unique communication needs.
  • Complete assessments for children and their families, providing essential support and guidance.
  • Undertake court work and Public Law Outline (PLO) work to ensure the welfare and rights of children.
  • Conduct short breaks assessments, aiding in the provision of needed respite.
  • Collaborate with a variety of professionals in health, education and social care to deliver comprehensive care plans.
  • Cover duty within the team as needed, ensuring smooth operational function.
  • Respond to safeguarding matters and carry out Section 47 enquiries where appropriate to protect vulnerable children.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience working with children with disabilities, either in a current position or a recent social work role.
