Job Title: Social Worker - Children's Safeguarding - Flintshire
Location: Flintshire
Pay Rate: £38.43 per hour

About the Role:

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Social Worker to join the long-term Children's Safeguarding team. Flintshire Council is seeking an experienced professional with a passion for working with children and families, as well as expertise in identifying and managing child protection concerns and addressing ongoing issues.

What will your responsibilities be?

In this role, you will develop and implement measurable, timely interventions in Child Protection/Child in Need (CIN) plans. You will identify when further intervention is required to protect children within your caseload and take appropriate action. Additionally, you will champion practice improvement by actively participating in the development of processes, procedures, policies, and strategies. You will manage and assess risk, leveraging your technical authority and deep expertise in social care practice. Furthermore, you will support and mentor others while maintaining credibility and hands-on experience in complex cases.

Qualifications & Experience:

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Be eligible to work in the UK.
  • Be registered with Social Work Wales.
  • Hold a qualification in Social Work at Degree level.
  • Have at least 2 years of post-qualified experience in social work.
  • Demonstrate expertise in assessing and managing risk in complex cases.
  • Ideally, be a driver with access to a car.
  • Possess significant experience in progressing Child Protection and Child in Need (CIN) plans.
  • Be organized, resilient, and adept at balancing multiple priorities while maintaining a focus on the best outcomes for children.
