Social Worker - Children and Families Hub, Colchester
Permanent, Part Time
£37,185 to £50,081 per annum (Full Time Equivalent)
Actual Salary (22.2 hours/week): £22,311 to £30,048 per annum
Location: Colchester
Working Style: Fixed-base worker

This is a part-time position (22.2 hours per week, Monday to Wednesday).
The Children and Families Hub is the single point of access for Children’s Social Care. Its primary purpose is to ensure children, young people, and their families receive early help, advice, and support to protect them from harm, promote development, and wellbeing. The Hub identifies the appropriate level of support needed to bring about positive change, supports good parenting, and promotes children’s emotional wellbeing. It plays a critical role in engaging parents and professionals in interventions that can bring about family change, aiming to deliver an outstanding service in Essex.
The role reports to a Senior Practitioner and is part of a large team of social workers and qualified staff. It focuses on delivering excellent social work practice, advising professionals with safeguarding concerns, and undertaking triage to determine ongoing social care needs. The postholder is expected to uphold high standards of social work, working within legal frameworks, policies, and procedures.
