Job summary

Hampshire County Council is seeking a Social Worker to join the Assessment Team in a hybrid role based in Slough. You will complete timely assessments, work with families and professionals to determine needed support, and plan interventions to safeguard children.

You will undertake child and family assessments, Section 47 enquiries, manage caseloads, and produce reports to inform decision-making. The role emphasizes risk assessment and multi-agency collaboration.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
• Minimum 1 year UK experience in a Social Worker role.
• Experience within Referral & Assessment / safeguarding.
• Enhanced DBS (we can support with this)

Responsibilities

• Completing Child & Family Assessments and Section 47 enquiries.
• Assessing, monitoring, and reviewing the needs of children and families.
• Managing a caseload and delivering outcome-focused plans.
• Working with multi-agency partners to safeguard children.
• Producing reports and maintaining accurate case records.
• Carrying out direct work with children, families, and carers.
• Using supervision to reflect and develop as a Social Worker
