Purpose of the Role

To deliver statutory social work duties under the Children Act, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. You will carry out high-quality assessments, develop effective care plans, and provide interventions that ensure children are safe, supported, and able to thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake timely and thorough assessments of children in need, children at risk, and those in care.
• Develop and implement robust care and protection plans in partnership with families and professionals.
• Identify and act on safeguarding concerns in accordance with statutory responsibilities and Birmingham Children’s Trust policies.
• Manage a caseload of varying complexity, prioritising effectively based on risk and need.
• Work in partnership with schools, healthcare professionals, police, voluntary organisations, and other agencies.
• Participate in supervision, reflective practice, and ongoing training to maintain and develop professional standards.
