Contract: Permanent

Message from the Director

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children, young people, and families? Do you want to be part of a transformative journey to improve Havering’s Children's Social Care Services? Following a recent inadequate Ofsted inspection, we are committed to re-establishing excellent practice across all our services. We seek dedicated social care practitioners eager to advocate for children and promote their well-being.

We offer development opportunities through our Social Care Academy, Systemic offer, and dedicated learning days. We aim to create a safe, supportive environment where staff can thrive and deliver the best support to children.

If you are ready to embrace this challenge and contribute to our improvement journey, we encourage you to apply.

About The Role

As a Social Worker in Havering, you will contribute to effective children’s social care, managing caseloads based on experience and case complexity. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Managing varied caseloads in accordance with procedures, guidelines, and legislation.
  2. Assessing risk and need, providing protective or supportive services for children at risk, in need, or in care.
  3. Maintaining up-to-date assessments, care plans, and reviews.
  4. Analyzing needs, contributing to and implementing plans, and reviewing progress, always prioritizing the child’s welfare.
  5. Ensuring reports are high quality, current, and submitted on time.

Havering is one of London's greenest boroughs, encouraging initiative and innovation. We support career progression and value the positive impact you can make in our community.

We serve a diverse community, and our roles offer opportunities for outdoors, people-focused, or analytical work.
