Job summary

Essex County Council's North Essex Social Worker role in the Assessment & Intervention Team is a part-time position (22.2 hours per week) based in Clacton-on-Sea. You will assess and intervene for children, young people and families with a three-month intervention focus, including CIN and child protection work.

The post requires a social work degree, registration with Social Work England, and the ability to travel across the county.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in social work, CQSW, CSS or equivalent and registration with Social Work England.
• Demonstrable capability of practice in line with PCF and KSS.
• Good IT skills and ability to use social work case recording systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage a defined caseload of children, young people and families.
• Conduct enquiries, assessments and targeted interventions to improve outcomes.
• Direct work and reviews related to Child Protection, CIN and looked after children.
• Support permanency planning and potential stepping down to other teams as needed.
