Social Worker - Assessment & Intervention

Sanctuary Personnel has a permanent position in Southend-on-Sea. We are seeking a Social Worker to join an Assessment & Intervention Team on a full-time basis.

Salary: up to £40,890 per annum. This position includes parking permits, a £1,000 joining incentive and £2,000 at the end of each year worked (up to £3,000 in total in the first year).

Main purpose: provide professional and comprehensive casework to a caseload of young people appropriate to experience and capabilities, maintaining high professional standards and knowledge of relevant legislation, regulation and practice methods.

Key duties: provide an efficient and cost-effective service to young people; ensure each young person has a professional and comprehensive Pathway Plan and Risk Assessment; investigate, evaluate and analyse information on cases; demonstrate clarity of assessment, reliability of information, evidenced conclusions and realistic pathway plans.

Travel: role requires a valid driving licence with a car available for business use to visit locations within the Borough and travel outside using public transport.

Requirements of Social Worker:

  • Recognised Social Work qualification (DipSW, CQSW, CSS or approved equivalent, BA Hons Social Work or other relevant degree in Social Work).
  • Post Qualification Diploma in Social Work.
  • Current Social Work England registration.
  • Experience of advocating on behalf of children, families and other agencies.
  • Experience of offering therapeutic assessment to children.
  • Experience of planning, executing and reviewing social work practice.
  • Experience of preparing and presenting case conference reports. Experience of reviewing care packages.
  • Ability to demonstrate maintaining key performance indicators and ensuring timeliness of report/assessment.
