Job description

Social Worker - Assessment & Intervention

Sanctuary Personnel has a new permanent position available in Southend-on-Sea. We are currently seeking a Social Worker with an enthusiastic and professional approach to join an Assessment & Intervention Team on a full-time basis.

The salary for this role is up to £40,890 per annum. Benefits include parking permits, a £1,000 joining incentive, and an additional £2,000 at the end of each year worked, totaling £3,000 on top of the first year's salary.

The main purpose of the role is to provide professional and comprehensive casework to a caseload of young people, tailored to their needs and your experience. You will ensure high standards of practice, knowledge of relevant legislation, regulation, and methods.

You will be responsible for providing an efficient, cost-effective service to young people, ensuring their needs are professionally assessed. Each young person will have a detailed Pathway Plan and Risk Assessment. You will investigate, evaluate, and analyze case information, demonstrating clarity of assessment, reliability, evidence-based conclusions, and realistic pathway plans.

This role requires a valid driving license and access to a car for business use, as you will need to visit various locations within the borough and beyond, using public transport when necessary.

Requirements for the Social Worker include:

  • A recognized Social Work qualification (DipSW, CQSW, CSS, or an approved equivalent, BA Hons Social Work, or other relevant degree)
  • A Post Qualification Diploma in Social Work
  • Current registration with Social Work England
  • Experience advocating for children, families, and agencies
  • Experience offering therapeutic assessments to children
  • Experience planning, executing, and reviewing social work practice
  • Experience preparing and presenting case conference reports
  • Experience reviewing care packages
  • Ability to maintain key performance indicators and ensure timely reports and assessments
