Job Title: Social Worker - Adults with Learning Disabilities Team

Location: Lewisham

Pay Rate: £32 per hour

Hours: Part-time, approximately 3-4 days per week

Start Date: ASAP - Ongoing

About the Role:

Join our Adults with Learning Disabilities and Transition Team in Lewisham as a locum Social Worker, earning £32 per hour. This part-time role involves conducting reviews and re-assessments for adults with learning disabilities, ADHD, and autism, using high-quality, strengths-based assessments and care planning to meet their needs and uphold their rights.

What You Will Do:
  • Conduct care management assessments and reviews
  • Promote independence and connect clients with community services
  • Create personalized support plans focusing on personal budgets and Direct Payments
  • Manage risks and follow safeguarding procedures
  • Oversee ongoing case management for adults requiring specialist intervention
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Maintain accurate records in line with policies and legal standards
Person Specification:
  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
  • Completion of ASYE with at least two years post-qualification experience
  • Experience working with adults with learning disabilities, ADHD, and autism
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation (Care Act 2014, MCA, DoLS, Safeguarding Adults, Equality Act)
  • Skills in strengths-based assessment and review techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to promoting independence and choice
  • Ability to manage complex cases under pressure
Training and Development:

Engage in in-house training and team learning events for CPD, supported by a reflective and professional environment.
