Job description

Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Social Worker within the Adults Locality Team to work full time based in Bexley.

The salary for this permanent Social Worker job is up to £39,564 per annum.

Responsibilities:
  1. No direct supervisory responsibility, however may be required to assist in induction and training of peers and new employees.
  2. Accepting client cases, as allocated by the manager, in line with the departmental protocols for case allocation and workload management.
  3. Working with those clients who are the most vulnerable, or at the most risk and will be expected to have a higher degree of professional autonomy and accountability for their work.
  4. Managing your own workload, with support from the manager in a way which ensures professional best practice and integrity at all times, recognises the individual needs of each child/adult, and the importance of their family/carers.
  5. Being efficient in the use of the service's resources and effective in terms of outcomes and in meeting the department's key performance targets and demonstrating the ability to work at a consistently high standard.
  6. Employing whatever professional social work methods or techniques are relevant to the needs of the situation and of a level of skill expected of a social worker.
  7. Assessing for and identifying eligible needs, deploying resources which maintain and promote children and young adults' welfare/independence that may include, for example, respite/domiciliary care, support to carers or other appropriate services. Reviewing to ensure services remain appropriate to need.
  8. Recognising the needs of the child/adult in regards to referrals to other professionals to deliver the required services.
  9. To ensure vulnerable children/adults are protected by identifying circumstances where abuse may occur, or is occurring, and working collaboratively with others within the framework of the multi-agency safeguarding procedures to protect vulnerable children/adults.
  10. To work within the statutory framework for Children/Adult Social Care adhering to national guidance and local policy and procedures, seeking guidance where appropriate to ensure your working practices are in line with legislative responsibilities and practice standards.
  11. In agreement with the manager, undertaking work that supports the functioning of the team, contributing to performance and successful outcomes for users of the service.
  12. Using the Department's service user database, inputting information as required by Departmental procedures and policies, ensuring the integrity and standard of service records are maintained.
  13. Complete other reasonable tasks in order to fulfil role purpose or as instructed by management.
Requirements:
  1. A Social Work Qualification or equivalent.
  2. Understanding of relevant legislation.
  3. Social Work England registered.
