Overview

Social Worker - Adult Team in Cornwall UK — £32.50 hourly, ongoing locum role. Based in Cornwall and flexible for full-time or part-time work, offering an opportunity to make a significant impact in the community.

What you will do

• Collaborate with team members and multi-disciplinary teams from various agencies to address the needs of vulnerable adults effectively.
• Ensure that the views and wishes of individuals and their carers are given appropriate consideration, making them central to all decision-making processes.
• Complete Mental Capacity Act (MCA) assessments and Best Interest decisions. Where necessary, complete Court of Protection (COP) applications and attend hearings.
• Protect adults in need of support services in accordance with legal requirements, including conducting safeguarding enquiries and self-neglect interventions.
• Promote independence, prevention, re-ablement, and self-determination by facilitating effective communication with families, carers, individuals, and other agencies.

Essential Skills

• SWE registration.
• Proven ability to work independently or as part of a team and travel to the Watergate PCN area as needed.
• Experience in safeguarding and self-neglect interventions.

Location

Based in Mid Cornwall, with possible work from an informal base in Newquay or from New County Hall.
