Social Workers - Adult Social Care
Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week
We currently have exciting new opportunities for Social Workers in the following teams:
We are looking to appoint Social Workers who are enthusiastic and passionate about changing the lives of people with care and support needs, and carers, through the promotion of wellbeing and choice, making a real difference and enabling them to increase their independence and have fulfilling lives, free from harm and abuse.
We welcome applications from newly qualified Social Workers as well as experienced Social Workers looking for a change in career or wishing to develop their skills and experience.You will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and abilities across a broad range of social work activity, such as assessment and care planning and safeguarding.
Our Teams
Adult Disability Team:
Based at Moat Lane, central Solihull, our Adult Disability team support adults with a learning disability, physical disability and/or autism.You will be part of a highly experienced and dedicated team delivering effective supervision and leadership to embed a strengths-based model of assessment and support, promoting independence and well-being and achieving better outcomes for people, carers and their families.
Preparing for Adulthood Team:
Based at Moat Lane, our Preparing for Adulthood Team work across Children’s Services and Adult Services.Working as part of an experienced team, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering our service, providing a specialist social work service to ensure a smooth transition for young people into adult care and support services within Solihull.
Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Team (DoLS):
Based at the Bluebell Centre, Chelmsley Wood, our Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) Team plays a key role in overseeing the effective application of DoLS legislation within a small, specialised and ambitious team.
It is also a requirement that Social workers in the DoLS team are experienced Best Interest Assessors (BIA), as you will be required to lead on assessments to safeguard individuals’ rights while balancing legal and operational responsibilities.
Community Older People Team:
Based at Moat Lane, this busy and supportive team are responsible for supporting, safeguarding and assessing the needs of older adults over the age of 70, people with dementia and their carers.

Within both teams, we also offer comprehensive training with opportunities to study to be a Best Interest Assessor or Practice Educator which provides a positive base for supervision skills. We also offer a 12-month Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) for newly qualified social workers.
Social Work England registration fees are also paid for qualified Social Workers.
