Role: Social Worker (Adult Learning Disabilities Services)

Location: GCHSCP, South Locality, 10 Ardencraig Place, Castlemilk, Glasgow G46 9US

Contract Status: Permanent

About the Role

We are seeking qualified Social Workers who are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of Adults with Learning Disabilities. We desire an energetic, talented, resilient, and dedicated individual to join our team.

Team and Service Overview

Adult Services offers a wide range of interconnected services aimed at ensuring vulnerable individuals in our City receive appropriate support. We collaborate across adult and older people's services, working closely with health partners and other stakeholders. Our priorities include shifting the balance of care and promoting early intervention and preventative support.

Candidate Requirements
  • Sound knowledge of assessment and care management.
  • Extensive practice under relevant legislation.
  • Person-centred approach embedded in practice.
  • Confidence in managing risks and promoting independence.
Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with service users, families, carers, and providers to support adults with learning disabilities in various settings.
  • Conduct regular visits and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to monitor support plans.
  • Ensure effective adult support and protection measures are in place.
Qualifications and Memberships
  • Degree or Diploma in Social Work or equivalent.
  • Membership of the PVG Scheme (costs borne by the candidate).
  • Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or application within 3 months, registration within 6 months.
Additional Information

We offer flexible working arrangements and extensive development opportunities. Interviews are scheduled for the week commencing 26th May 2025. Vacancies are based at the noted location, with potential for other localities during the recruitment process.
