Job summary

Eden Brown Synergy is recruiting for Suffolk County Council’s Adoption and Kinship team in Ipswich. The role involves undertaking kinship assessments, supporting informed decision‑making and court care planning.

You will visit homes, assess carers and families, and collaborate with professionals to plan for children. Pay rate is £39 per hour (Umbrella) with flexible hybrid working.

Qualifications

• Must hold Social Work qualification and be registered with Social Work England.
• Minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience in a UK English Local Authority.
• Experience undertaking kinship assessments and working with children and families.

Eden Brown Synergy are currently looking for an experienced Social Worker to join Suffolk County Council's Adoption and Kinship team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Social Worker with relevant assessment experience to undertake kinship assessments, supporting informed decision-making and court care planning.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

• Undertaking kinship assessments of potential kinship carers in their own homes.
• Assessing the suitability of potential carers to support children within their family networks.
• Preparing assessments to inform decision-making and court care planning.
• Undertaking home visits to potential kinship carers as required.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues and relevant professionals to support effective planning for children.

Essential Requirements

• Social Work qualification or equivalent recognised qualification.
• Current Social Work England registration.
• Minimum of 3 years' post‑qualification experience working in Social Work roles within a UK English Local Authority.
• Relevant experience undertaking assessments and working with children and families.
• Ability to undertake home visits and produce clear, evidence‑based assessments to inform decision‑making.
