Salary and Conditions

NLC11: £43,648 - £48,067 plus non-core hours for weekend work.
NLC12: £46,872 - £51,557 for eligible Senior Practitioners.
Mental Health Officer qualified Social Workers will be eligible for Senior Practitioner status following appointment.

About the Role

We have opportunities for two Social Workers to join North Lanarkshire Council's Out of Hours Social Work Emergency Service (SWES). SWES provides urgent support to individuals in need or requiring protection, working closely with internal and external partners, including Home Support, Community Alarms, and Children and Families staff outside of regular hours.

SWES is part of the Education and Families Directorate. You will contribute to our program of work: building resilient communities, transforming services, and improving outcomes.

Candidate Profile

We seek Social Workers with strong values, capable of conducting effective assessments in out-of-hours settings. A commitment to safe, person-centered responses and positive outcomes for vulnerable children, adults, and families is essential.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Hold CQSW/DipSW, BA (Hons) in Social Work, or equivalent.
  • Extended post-qualifying experience.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to build trust and confidence.

You must be registered or eligible for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and become a PVG Scheme member before starting.
