We’re looking for someone passionate about supporting children who would like to become a social worker within our Children with Disabilities team.

We know that many of you will not have considered working for Children with Disabilities (CWD) before, thinking you may not have the right skills knowledge or experience. We’ll teach you what you need to know. As long as you have a recognised social care qualification and a desire to make a positive difference in a young person’s life, you’ll be able to help.

If you’re worried that the work is less dynamic than other areas of social work, be assured, this is as fascinating, varied and rewarding a role as any other. There will be some paperwork, panels, policies and procedures to fulfil, but also wonderful opportunities to connect with and work with these brilliant children, who with their additional needs can teach us something new every day (like all children do!).

We have a stable management team that takes a real pride in what we do. They care. They’re approachable. They’re supportive. They want to see you develop and progress in your career.

Ultimately, we know why you do this job - we know that you make children’s lives better every time you go to work! So, if you were thinking of a change in your social work journey, then maybe give the CWD team consideration, you won't regret it!

What you’ll do - key responsibilities
  • Make ongoing assessments of allocated cases.
  • Responsible for a caseload of varying complexity.
  • Conduct risk assessments to ensure children and young people are protected.
  • Deliver evidence based interventions in response to identified needs.
  • Undertake statutory and best practice reviews, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
What we’re looking for – knowledge, experience & skills
  • Recognised social care qualification, and registration with Social Care England.
  • Relevant multi-disciplinary social care experience.
  • Evidence of partnership working with other agencies.
  • Knowledge and understanding of social care practice as defined by Social Care England guidelines.
  • Ability to speak fluent English as stated in Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016).
Additional Information
  • This is a permanent, full-time role working 37 hours a week.
  • 30 days of annual leave (additionalto bank holidays).
  • Regretfully, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role. We are only able toproceedwith candidates who already have the right to work in the UK without the need for visa sponsorship.
