A community-focused health organization in Witcombe seeks experienced Mental Health Social Workers to support individuals with mental health needs. You will manage requests for assistance, fulfill statutory duties, and work with multi-disciplinary teams. The Adult Social Care function for individuals with mental health needs is undergoing a significant transformation in Gloucestershire. Currently based within Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust (GHC), the mental health social care offer is transitioning back to Gloucestershire County Council over the next 12 months.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of a service in transition — shaping the future of mental health social care in Gloucestershire.
We are seeking experienced and passionate Mental Health Social Workers or Adult Social Care Social Workers with an interest in mental health. You will play a key role in managing new requests for support, so a strong working knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and Section 117 aftercare duties is essential.
You will be based within our Community Mental Health Teams, working in a multi-disciplinary environment alongside NHS colleagues. The ability to travel independently across Gloucestershire is essential, as our locations are widespread and often rural.
Posts are substantive and will be subject to TUPE arrangements.
