The Skye and Lochalsh Integrated Health & Social Care Team has a vacancy for a Social Worker within it’s busy Portree and Broadford Offices. The Team works closely with other disciplines such as nursing and mental health teams to provide a multi disciplinary and integrated service in a beautiful but remote and rural setting
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified social worker to work in a community care context with adults.
We are a small and motivated Team that work hard to support adults with care needs in Skye and Lochalsh. Good Team working skills are essential as we work closely to support each other in meeting the diverse range of challenges we face
Roles include working with older adults, adults with learning disabilities, autism and those in transition from Children’s services
Duties will include:
Supporting vulnerable adults and their families and carers
Working with clients with a person centred approach
Working within relevant legislation including the Adult Support and Protection, Adults with Incapacity and Mental Health Acts
Working with other NHS professionals to provide a multi-disciplinary framework to interventions
Assessment and report writing
Arranging, with the client’s consent, care packages to meet assessed need
Working as part multi-disciplinary service which supports adults living within a large remote and rural geographical area with the potential challenges this can present.
Flexible working is encouraged and a application for part time or jobshare would also be considered. Help may be available with accommodation
Due to the rural nature of the area a driving licence is essential, and applicants should have access to their own vehicle for work purposes.
Applicants should be registered with the Scottish Social Services council on the ‘Social worker’ part of the register and hold a qualification that is recognised by the SSSC as being equivalent to the Diploma in social work (DipSW).
