Job Title: Social Worker - Children In Care

Salary: £36,124 - £50,788

Responsible to: Team Manager

Work Pattern: Hybrid (2-3 days a week in the office)

Location: Milton Keynes City Council

The Role

The Children in Care team in Milton Keynes is a rewarding team to be part of. We act as corporate parents to the children and young people in our care. We are ambitious for our children and deliver high standards of service to ensure they achieve good outcomes.

Key Requirements

1. Chair multi-disciplinary meetings and work closely with other agencies/professionals to complete assessments and formulate child-centered care plans.
2. Complete annual Children and Family Assessments for each case to review the care plan for the child/young person.
3. Ensure children’s day-to-day care needs are met and they understand their care story through direct work, life story work, and multi-agency collaboration.
4. Manage a caseload of up to 18 children, including those subject to Care Orders, Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children, children placed with parents, and children under Placement Orders.
5. Collaborate with team members to share knowledge, develop skills, and contribute to the team’s overall development.

Skills & Experience

1. A qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
2. Committed to supporting children, young people, and their families, with resilience to go the extra mile to help them achieve their potential.
3. Ability to think creatively, challenge practices, and make evidence-based decisions.
4. UK driving license, business insurance, and the ability to travel within and outside Milton Keynes, including outside of office hours if necessary.
5. Willingness to work collaboratively, share knowledge, and support team development.
