Job summary

Oldham Council is seeking a Social Worker for the Children with Additional & Complex Needs Team. The post carries a permanent contract and a salary of £42,839‑£47,181 per year, with 36.66 hours per week. Based at Spindles with free parking onsite; closing date 26 August 2026.

You will deliver safeguarding services and manage a wide range of cases across children’s services. The role requires registration with Social Work England, at least 3 years post‑qualified experience, and expertise in

Qualifications

  • Qualified social worker registered with Social Work England.
  • Minimum of 3 years post‑qualifying experience.
  • Experience in safeguarding children and looked‑after processes.
  • Knowledge of or willingness to develop specialist skills in mental capacity, best‑interest, Court of Protection and Inherent Jurisdiction.

  • Support young people transitioning from children to adult services.
