Location: Parkside Bromsgrove

Team: Bromsgrove Area Team

Permanent The Bromsgrove Area Team currently has a vacancy for a full-time Qualified Social Worker (37 hours per week).

We are a supportive and friendly team covering Bromsgrove, Rubery, Wythall, and surrounding areas, and we are looking for an experienced Social Worker who brings a positive, enthusiastic, and person-centred approach to practice.

You will have experience working with complex cases and situations and demonstrate a high level of competence in assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. A sound knowledge and understanding of the Care Act 2014 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005 is essential.

About The Role

At Worcestershire County Council, we work within the 3 Conversations Model, promoting a strengths-based, innovative, and creative approach to practice. You will support people to achieve positive changes in their lives by exploring community and universal services, alongside commissioned support where appropriate, to maximise independence and wellbeing.

You will be confident in advocating for people and working collaboratively with health colleagues, statutory partners, voluntary organisations, and community providers to achieve positive outcomes.

About The Team

You will join a diverse and experienced team comprising Social Workers and Social Care Workers with a wide range of skills, knowledge, and expertise. We pride ourselves on being a supportive, collaborative, and learning-focused team where everyone's contribution is valued.

We are committed to professional development and regularly host social work students on placement.

  • Monthly reflective practice sessions featuring guest speakers and discussions on relevant practice topics.
  • Weekly team huddles where colleagues share knowledge, discuss cases, and work together to find solutions.
  • Opportunities to develop specialist interests and areas of expertise, such as becoming a Direct Payments Champion or a Practice Educator.
  • Regular supervision and ongoing professional development opportunities.

We foster a positive team culture and learning environment through reflective practice, peer support, and continuous development. Staff are encouraged to use their professional judgement, creativity, and strengths to deliver the best possible outcomes for the people we support.

What We Offer
  • A welcoming and supportive team environment.
  • Monthly supervision and reflective support.
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities.
  • Opportunities to develop specialist knowledge and skills.
  • A culture that values innovation, learning, and professional autonomy.
  • Strong peer support and collaborative working.
What Our Staff Say

“After finishing my last stage of professional training, I had several options to choose from, but chose to remain in this team because it is the best social work team I have been a part of. There is a real sense of togetherness across the whole team, from students to managers, all working towards the same goals. Combined with our commitment to the 3 Conversations Model and the autonomy given to practitioners, decisions are more streamlined and support can be provided more quickly. I wouldn't want to practise anywhere else.”

“Worcestershire County Council has enabled me to use my professional judgement, creativity, and autonomous decision-making. I receive an appropriate balance of professional support and reflective challenge through supervision, which helps me continue learning and developing my practice.”
