About The Role

Working Hours: 35 Hours per Week
Contract Type: Full time / Permanent
Additional Payments: £5000 Market Rate Supplement and Essential Car Allowance

This role is subject to:
  • Social Work Qualification and registration with SWE
  • DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance - this post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (amended in 2013). Appointable candidates will be required to apply for an Enhanced DBS check. Information provided by you or the DBS will be handled confidentially and in accordance with the DBS Code of Practice, available here.   • Essential Car Documentation - This post is designated as Essential Car User. You must hold a full valid driving licence and provide your own car for work. You will receive the Essential Car User Allowance.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Team Manager position in our Fostering Service within the Kinship Care Hub. Our Kinship Care Hub continues to develop, working with family and friends from initial assessment to securing legal permanence.

Your role as Team Manager in Kinship Care involves supporting and supervising a team of 6 supervising social workers and 2 Advanced practitioners, focusing on reflective and relationship-based practice.

You will ensure the service is effective, delivering positive outcomes for children and their kinship networks, ensuring statutory requirements are met in accordance with legislation, guidance, and fostering regulations.

Experience and knowledge of working within courts and fostering regulations are essential, as well as the ability to produce high-quality assessments within court timeframes.

About the Candidate

  • You should possess good people skills, be capable of nurturing and developing staff, including newly qualified and advanced practitioners. Ability to work with multi-agency professionals and influence positive team and service culture is important.
  • You should be a brave, creative leader.
  • You will work alongside the Service Lead and Assistant Director as part of the leadership team in Fostering.
  • Excellent communication, IT, performance management, and knowledge of legislation related to fostering and children are required.
