Job summary

Sanctuary Personnel in Cardiff is seeking a Social Work Team Manager for the Intake & Assessment Team. This hybrid, ongoing locum role offers £48.95 per hour and leads a dedicated team focused on safeguarding children and families.

You will supervise social workers, oversee assessments and court work as needed, and promote agile working with in-person attendance up to two days weekly. A strong leadership and safeguarding background are essential.

Qualifications

• Registered Social Worker with Social Care Wales.
• Experience in children’s safeguarding and statutory work.
• Experience supervising Social Workers and leading a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, oversight, and support to a team of Social Workers engaged in statutory assessments and interventions.
• Oversee pre-proceedings and court work when necessary, ensuring processes are carried out efficiently.
• Guide the team in completing timely assessments and identifying risks, with proactive intervention when needed.
• Facilitate smooth transfer of cases to Locality Teams for ongoing support.
• Promote engagement with children and families on the edge of care, maintaining family connections where feasible.
