A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Social Work Team Manager for Cheshire East Council's Children with Disabilities Hub. The role involves leading a dedicated team, managing complex cases, and ensuring high-quality support for children. Semester Recruitment is proud to be partnering with Cheshire East Council, who are seeking an experienced and passionate Team Manager to join their Children with Disabilities Hub.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled manager to lead a team supporting children with complex needs and help shape the continued development of a forward-thinking, relationship-based service.
Lead and supervise up to 6 Family Support Workers, overseeing packages of support for children with complex disabilities
Work alongside a second Team Manager, who manages Social Workers covering CIN, CP, and Care Proceedings
Provide operational oversight of all cases within the team
Take responsibility for performance management and quality assurance
Work closely with the Service Manager, parent/carers, and multi-agency partners to improve and develop the Children with Disabilities Hub
Cover for the other Team Manager during periods of leave
Promote and embed a restorative, trauma-informed, and relationship-based model of practice
Experienced Team Manager or Senior Practitioner ready to step up
Background in working with children with disabilities
Proven ability to manage staff, support development, and lead on quality of practice
Strong understanding of statutory processes and support frameworks for children with complex needs
Confident communicator, able to liaise with professionals and families alike
Able to work across the Cheshire East area – access to a vehicle is desirable
Commitment to minimum 3 days in the office per week (Macclesfield or Crewe)
Monday–Thursday: 8:30am–5:00pm
Friday: 8:30am–4:30pm
Hybrid working available, with strong office-based team presence
DBS Requirement:
Enhanced – including barred: a. Children’s barred list
