An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right candidate for the post of Social Work Team Manager. Based within the Oban Lorn and Islands Locality, this post is to cover the Islands of the Inner Hebrides.

The successful candidate will nurture, lead and manage a team of staff whoprovide a professional Social Work service across the Inner Hebridean Islands, taking responsibility within the Social Work Team for professional practice, risk management, budget management, staff supervision, support and deployment.
The Social Work Team Manager will participate in strategic developments take the lead in delegated projects where required.
The Social Work Team Manager will, in conjunction with senior managers and interagency colleagues, take a lead role in public protection processes as appropriate to the specific role.
This posts carries a commitment to participate in the Out of Hours Social Work standby / senior standby rota.
Potential candidates should be able to evidence leadership and management experience an demonstrate ongoing professional development and knowledge and a commitment ot social work values.
The post holder will hold a DipSW or equivalent Social Work qualification.
The post holder must be registered with the SSSC.
The post holder must be willing to undergo a management qualification if they do not yet hold one. Minimally the Council run management course must be completed within 6 months of taking post or at the earliest opportunity.
Management Qualification. (If the post holder does not have an advanced management qualification, the exact training course or programme can be agreed with the line manager and endorsed by a Head of Service and Social Work Training Board.)
Full driving license is required.
