A local government authority in North East England is seeking a Team Manager for its Learning Disability and Autism team. This role involves managing social workers, ensuring quality service delivery, and promoting the welfare of vulnerable individuals. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in the field and be committed to innovative practices. This is a fixed-term position for 2 years, working 3 days per week with a competitive salary.

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, highly motivated Team Manager who is interested in joining our Learning Disability and Autism team.
This is a fixed term, 3 day post. You must be a dynamic, innovative, and committed person, ideally with experience of working with people with learning disability and /or autism.
The post holder will be expected to jointly manage a team of social workers and work alongside the management team to deliver effective, responsive services. Due to the complex nature of the work the role requires the team manager to have knowledge of Court of Protection proceedings and to work closely with key partners across health, education, housing and the community and voluntary sector.

We are using the innovative Newcastle 3 conversations model to enable our Social Workers to have open and interesting conversations with people and families who need our support, and with our colleagues and partners to foster collaboration to make things happen, so that we can be useful for people and help them improve their lives.
The team manager will be responsible for overseeing this work, providing appropriate guidance, support and professional supervision to team members.
