Social Work Senior Practitioner, Child Protection Team, Bexley UK, £37.72 Hourly, Ongoing. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Child Protection Team in Bexley as a Social Work Senior Practitioner. Working either Full Time or Part Time, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the well-being of children and families. What you will do:

  1. Manage a reduced caseload of the most complex and high-risk child protection cases, including court proceedings and care planning to ensure the safety and well-being of children.
  2. Offer expert guidance, mentoring, and support to less experienced social workers and newly qualified social workers, fostering a collaborative and learning-oriented environment.
  3. Contribute to critical decision-making processes and case planning, ensuring the highest standards of service quality.
  4. Provide informal supervision or mentoring to colleagues, supporting the induction, learning, and development of team members and students.
  5. Assist with quality assurance activities like audits and reflective discussions, and help implement best practice models such as systemic practice and Signs of Safety.
  6. Support the Team Manager and occasionally step in during their absence, representing the team in multi-agency meetings and ensuring robust safeguarding decisions.
