Job summary

Birmingham Children’s Trust is seeking a Social Work Practice Supervisor to support and supervise staff safeguarding children and young people. You will work with Lead Practitioners, Team Managers, families and partners to assess needs, develop family plans, and provide family support.

This hybrid role, based in Birmingham, requires a Social Work degree, registration with Social Work England, and extensive frontline experience.

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work and registration with Social Work England.
• Extensive experience working with vulnerable children and families.
• Experience supervising others.
• Strong knowledge of legislation, safeguarding, and multi‑agency working.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and supervisory skills.
• Commitment to reflective practice and continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

• Providing reflective supervision and casework oversight.
• Supporting the development and delivery of multi‑agency Family Help plans.
• Chairing multi‑agency meetings, quality assure and authorise assessments and reports.
• Promoting the voice of the child and ensure their views shape their care.
