  • Permanent, full-time (1.0FTE) opportunity for a Social Work Clinical Team Leader who enjoys a varied role, is passionate about their profession, and supporting the growth of others.

  • About the role

    Our Community Services are mainly based at The Princess Margaret Hospital. We use a collaborative MDT approach to work alongside individuals and their support networks to manage changes in their physical and mental health.

    Our Social Work team is part of a collaborative health system, aiming to achieve positive health outcomes for patients, their families/whānau, and communities. We guide people through their health journeys, whether dealing with a chronic disability or temporary issues.

    We are committed to empowering clients within their social contexts, promoting self-determination and autonomy.

    The Clinical Team Leader supports and promotes the Social Work profession within our community teams, including Older Persons Therapy teams, Community Stroke, and Older Persons Mental Health. The clinical caseload of approximately 0.7FTE involves social work assessments, advice, and interventions for older adults in the North/East Christchurch region.

    This role is responsible for the day-to-day professional leadership of the Social Workers in our Community Teams, providing guidance, supervision, fostering a culture of learning, leading education initiatives, and supporting service improvement projects.

    To succeed, you will demonstrate:

    1. Current NZ registration & APC
    2. Bachelor's Degree in Social Work
    3. Minimum 5 years of clinical experience
    4. Experience in clinical teaching, supervision, staff development
    5. Strong leadership and management skills
    6. Experience in quality improvement activities and policy development
    7. Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to learning
    8. Knowledge of NZ Health & Disability sector standards and Privacy Act
    9. Proven case management skills

    Desirable:

    1. Postgraduate certificate
    2. Full Driver's license
