Role Responsibilities

  • An opportunity has arisen for two full-time Social Work Assistants in the Maidstone Children Social Work Teams. This is an exciting time to join a growing and dynamic team as we build and consolidate good practice in this area of social work.
  • Training and development are available, with support and opportunities to further develop your knowledge and skills through regular supervision.
  • You will be highly motivated, demonstrating excellent interpersonal and communication skills to deliver high-quality services to children, their families, and carers.
  • You will work directly with children and families, facilitating family time, providing parenting support, and exploring healthy relationships and communication. Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will liaise with families, Social Workers, and partner agencies including Police, Health, and Education.
  • Kent County Council offers a hybrid working model, combining home and office work. The contractual base is at Invicta House, Maidstone. The team covers a large geographical area, and flexibility to work across the entire area is expected.
  • This position is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
  • As a customer-facing role, the post requires a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for effective job performance, in accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016). Standards are detailed in the Job Description/Person Specification.
