Job description

We're looking for a creative, YouTube-obsessed Video Editor to join StudioB! If you know how to turn great footage into content people actually want to watch, understand what makes audiences click and stay engaged, and love creating videos that stand out, we want to hear from you.

Location: StudioB, Mill Hill, North West London

Contract: Fixed-term until 31 December 2026, with the potential to extend into 2027.

The Opportunity

StudioB is looking for a talented, hands‑on Video Editor who understands YouTube inside out.

Your main focus will be editing engaging, high-quality YouTube content across both long‑form videos and Shorts, helping us create content that captures attention, tells great stories and keeps audiences watching.

We're not looking for someone who simply cuts footage together. We want an editor who understands storytelling, pacing, retention and what makes content perform on YouTube.

You'll work closely with our creative and production teams, taking content from raw footage through to final delivery. You'll have the confidence to bring your own creative ideas, challenge edits and suggest ways to make content even better.

This is a fast‑paced, creative environment where no two days are the same. You'll need to be comfortable working across different projects, managing deadlines and adapting your editing style to suit different audiences and formats.

The initial contract will run until the end of December 2026, with the potential to extend into 2027 depending on business and production requirements.

Where You'll Make An Impact
YouTube Editing & Storytelling
  • Edit engaging YouTube content across both long‑form videos and Shorts.

  • Create compelling narratives that keep audiences watching from the opening hook through to the final frame.

  • Understand the importance of pacing, structure, storytelling and audience retention.

  • Turn raw footage into polished, entertaining and platform‑native content.

  • Identify the strongest moments in footage and build edits around them.

  • Use music, sound effects, graphics and transitions creatively to enhance storytelling.

  • Repurpose long‑form content into engaging YouTube Shorts and other short‑form social content.

  • Adapt editing styles to suit different creators, brands, audiences and formats.

Creative Collaboration & Content Development
  • Work closely with Producers, Directors and the wider creative team to bring ideas to life.

  • Contribute creative ideas and suggestions throughout the editing process.

  • Understand the objectives of each piece of content and edit with the audience in mind.

  • Take feedback positively and confidently make changes to improve the final output.

  • Stay on top of YouTube trends, editing techniques and emerging content formats.

  • Bring fresh thinking to how we approach storytelling and content production.

Post-Production & Delivery
  • Take ownership of edits from initial assembly through to final delivery.

  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines without compromising on quality.

  • Ensure all content meets StudioB's creative and technical standards.

  • Organise project files, footage and assets to maintain efficient post‑production workflows.

  • Work with the production team to ensure content is delivered on time.

  • Support basic motion graphics, colour correction, audio mixing and finishing where required.

  • Identify opportunities to improve editing workflows and production efficiency.

What You'll Bring To The Team

We're looking for someone who:

  • Is genuinely passionate about YouTube and understands what makes great content.

  • Has a creative eye and a natural instinct for storytelling.

  • Understands the difference between editing for traditional video and editing for digital‑first audiences.

  • Knows how to create strong hooks, maintain pace and keep viewers engaged.

  • Is proactive, self‑motivated and confident taking ownership of their edits.

  • Enjoys collaborating with Producers, Directors and other creatives.

  • Is comfortable receiving feedback and isn't precious about making changes.

  • Can work quickly and efficiently while maintaining excellent attention to detail.

  • Thrives in a fast‑paced production environment with changing priorities.

  • Is constantly looking for new ways to make content more engaging and entertaining.

  • Brings a positive, hands‑on attitude and enjoys being part of a creative team.

What You'll Need
  • Proven experience editing YouTube content, particularly long‑form videos and Shorts.

  • A strong portfolio or showreel demonstrating your YouTube editing experience.

  • Excellent working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro.

  • A strong understanding of YouTube storytelling, pacing, audience retention and platform trends.

  • Experience working with multi‑camera footage, audio, music and graphics.

  • Confidence editing different types of content, from fast‑paced short‑form videos to longer narrative‑led pieces.

  • Ability to manage multiple edits and work to tight deadlines.

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Experience working within a creative agency, production company, creator‑led business or digital content environment would be beneficial.

  • Experience with Adobe After Effects, Photoshop or other post‑production tools would be an advantage.

  • An interest in AI‑powered editing tools and emerging post‑production technology would be welcomed.

Most importantly, we want to see examples of content you've edited for YouTube and understand your creative contribution to those projects.

What Success Looks Like
  • YouTube content is engaging, well‑paced and creatively strong.

  • Long‑form videos tell compelling stories and keep audiences watching.

  • Shorts capture attention immediately and feel native to the platform.

  • Projects are delivered on time and to a consistently high standard.

  • Producers and Directors see you as a creative collaborator, not just someone who edits footage.

  • You proactively suggest ideas that improve content quality and audience engagement.

  • Post‑production workflows are organised and efficient.

  • You're helping StudioB create content that stands out in an increasingly competitive creator economy.

You'll be joining a talented team of creatives, producers and filmmakers who are passionate about pushing boundaries and creating content that people actually want to watch.

This is an opportunity to get hands‑on with exciting projects, bring your creative ideas to the table and make a real impact on the content we produce.

Although this is initially a fixed‑term opportunity until the end of 2026, there is potential for the role to extend into 2027.
