Overview
Job Title: Social Value Coordinator
Location: Office-based (Maidenhead preferred, but Solihull, Abingdon, Sittingbourne, or Witney possible) with UK travel
Contract: Fixed-term (12 months), Part-time (3 days per week)
Reports To: Sustainability Manager - UK & Ireland
Responsibilities
- Support and deliver social value projects (health education, volunteering, employment initiatives).
- Work with commercial teams, NHS partners, and community organisations to create impact-driven activities.
- Track, measure, and report on social value outcomes.
- Coordinate employee volunteering and CSR opportunities.
- Build relationships with stakeholders (NHS Trusts, local authorities, charities, schools).
- Contribute to the ongoing development of Abbott's UK Social Value Strategy.
What We're Looking For
- Strong project management and organisational skills.
- Confident communicator with good stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Passion for sustainability, health equity, and community development.
- Knowledge of the Social Value Act, PPN 06/20, and NHS procurement (or willingness to learn).
- Ability to work independently and travel within the UK.
Preferred Experience
- Project management qualification or proven experience in delivering community-focused projects.
- Familiarity with social value measurement tools (e.g., Thrive, Social Value Portal).
- Background in healthcare, pharma, construction/infrastructure, public sector, or similar.
- Degree or experience in sustainability, public affairs, or social impact.
