Job description

Job Title: Social Value Coordinator

Location: Malvern

Due to business growth, Thorn Baker's award-winning client is looking for a Social Value Coordinator to join their team. As a family business with nearly 30 years of experience, their vision is to develop a business at the cutting edge of construction while supporting their people's skills for a long-term career. Now one of the UK's leading regional contractors, they deliver a range of public and private sector projects from £250k up to £30 million across various fields including education, healthcare, residential, and leisure.

Your Responsibilities
  • Work with bid and pre-construction teams to develop social value strategies supporting tender submissions. Assist in the bid writing process regarding social value. Attend project interviews to promote social value where required.
  • Support bid stage responses with bid leads.
  • Assist in the development of Social Value Plans (SVP) at bid stage and beyond, liaising with internal teams, clients, and project stakeholders to ensure robust and achievable targets.
  • Utilize multiple software platforms to generate, manage, and monitor social value plans.
  • Update Social Value Calculator with project KPIs.
  • Attend client/framework-specific social value meetings/events. Develop strong relationships with social value leads in key client organizations.
  • Coordinate, lead, and participate in activities with stakeholders and site delivery teams, such as site tours, school assemblies, careers fairs, and framework engagement.
  • Build and maintain relationships with beneficiaries.

Required Skills
  • At least 3 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to maintain positive relationships both internally and externally.
  • Highly motivated and organized, capable of working to deadlines, multitasking, and prioritizing workload.
  • Proactive, takes initiative and responsibility.
  • Full driving license.
  • Social Value qualification and construction experience are advantageous.
