Job description

Role purpose

The Social Value Coordinator plays an important role in helping us turn good intentions into real impact. Working closely with the Social Value Lead, they will support the design, mobilisation and evidencing of our social value commitments across both live bids and contract delivery.

This role is all about connecting people, ideas and action. Acting as a link between bid, delivery, HR, Learning & Development and other teams, the Coordinator will help translate written commitments into meaningful, measurable activity after contract award. They will also support the collection of robust evidence and data, helping us tell a clear, credible story about the difference we are making for clients and communities.

This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who is genuinely interested in social value and wants to build experience in a role with purpose. It would suit someone who enjoys working with people across a business, bringing plans to life, staying organised, and seeing commitments through from idea to delivery. In return, the role offers the chance to shape your own development and grow over time this role with a strong foundation for progression into social value, bid management or delivery-focused roles.

Key responsibilities
  • Support clear ownership of commitments across the business, helping teams understand their role in delivery and keeping actions on track.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues across bid, delivery, HR, Learning & Development and other internal teams, as well as with external partners such as charities, VCSEs, schools, colleges and SMEs.
  • Support teams to translate contractual social value commitments into practical, achievable delivery plans following contract award.
  • Coordinate the set-up and ongoing delivery of social value activities, such as work placements, mentoring, volunteering, employability support and skills-based sessions.
  • Help track delivery against commitments, following up actions, monitoring progress and escalating risks or slippage at an early stage.
  • Work with commitment owners and internal teams to gather evidence, case studies and data that demonstrate progress and impact.
  • Maintain accurate, well-organised and audit-ready records to support client reporting and internal assurance.
  • Collect, check and manage social value performance data, including areas such as volunteering, employment and skills outcomes, SME/VCSE engagement, local impact and other agreed measures.
  • Support the production of clear, accurate dashboards, updates and reports for internal stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Contribute research, case studies and supporting evidence to strengthen social value responses in bids when required.
  • Support partner engagement and relationship management, helping to ensure external organisations have a positive experience of working with us.
  • Keep up to date with relevant social value policy, client expectations and best practice, and share useful insights with the wider team.
  • Look for opportunities to improve how we coordinate, evidence and deliver social value across the business.
Essential
  • A genuine interest in social value, community impact and creating positive outcomes through business activity.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines and stakeholders at the same time.
  • Confident relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work positively across different teams and levels of the business.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when handling data, evidence and reporting information.
  • Good Excel and data-handling skills, and confidence working with spreadsheets, trackers and reporting information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with a range of audiences.
  • A proactive and dependable approach, with the confidence to follow up actions, keep momentum going and see tasks through to completion.
  • An interest in public sector social value and a willingness and ability to build knowledge quickly.

  • Experience in a coordination, project support, programme support, bid support, HR, L&D, CSR/ESG or social value-related role.
  • Experience of working with community organisations, charities, schools, colleges, early careers or employability programmes.

  • Experience of working in a bid, contract delivery or client-facing environment.
