I am looking to employ a PA to assist my easy-going 5-year-old son. He is non-verbal and requires 1:1 support to promote his independence skills. He needs support to enjoy activities that help him feel included in his family life. The PA will support him with play, community outings, and in-home routines in ways that promote his independence. You will support him with dressing and toileting when required. You will be required to drive him in your own vehicle in return for mileage at 35p per mile. This could be a very rewarding role for the right person. Are you that person?
Successful applicants will be entitled to holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.

To support with dressing and toileting when required.
My son enjoys walks, being outdoors, sensory rooms, books, messy play, playfighting with his brother, collecting things (such as books, toy characters, coloured bricks, etc.), multi-coloured toys, recorded bird sounds, his cuddle toy, sensory lighting, watching his brother play football.
You will help identify trigger points that may upset him, teach self-care skills and routines, support with alternative communication methods, help him become more aware of dangers, and provide opportunities to safely try new experiences. Overall, he is a very happy little boy.
Previous experience is preferred but not essential; a friendly and enabling approach is most important.
Please note, successful applicants will be employed directly by the individual employer, not by Independent Lives.
