ROLE: Social Sciences Teacher / Social Sciences ECT

CONTRACT TYPE: Permanent – employed by the school

An Outstanding Secondary School in the London Borough of Westminster is looking to appoint a Social Sciences Teacher / Social Sciences ECT. All children and young people are welcomed in an inclusive community, and all are challenged to be the best they can be.

The Social Science department is a vibrant and dynamic team with responsibility for an array of subjects across the curriculum. Teaching and Learning is strong across all subjects with the department leading by example in many areas, particularly in the development of speaking and listening in lessons. The department is made up of several members of staff, many of whom are responsible for teaching more than one subject.

Staff in the department work collaboratively in all aspects of their planning and practice, a new member of staff would be expected to be an active member of such a team, whilst being responsible for a high standard of teaching and learning in their own subject areas. The new member of the department would also need to be flexible in their approach to such a diverse department which draws upon a number of skills and areas of subject knowledge.
