Psychology & Sociology Teacher Required - Secondary School in Lambeth - January 2025 Start A vibrant and diverse secondary school in the heart of Lambeth is seeking to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic Teacher of Psychology and Sociology to join their thriving Social Sciences department.

This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in January 2025.

The Role: The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching both Psychology and Sociology across Key Stages 4 and 5.

Key responsibilities include: Planning and delivering engaging lessons that meet the requirements of the national curriculum and exam board specifications for both subjects.

Inspiring students to develop a strong understanding of psychological and sociological concepts, theories, and research methods.

Creating a stimulating and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation, critical thinking, and thoughtful discussion of social and psychological issues.

Assessing and monitoring student progress in both subjects, providing constructive feedback, and implementing differentiated learning strategies to cater to diverse learning needs and abilities.

Utilizing a variety of teaching resources, including case studies, research articles, documentaries, and current affairs, to enhance students' understanding of both disciplines.

Collaborating with colleagues within the Social Sciences department to develop and enhance the curriculum, share best practices, and contribute to the school's commitment to providing a well-rounded education.

The Successful Candidate will have: A degree in Psychology, Sociology, or a related field with strong competence in both disciplines.

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.

A strong understanding of the KS4 and KS5 Psychology and Sociology curricula.

Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for both psychology and sociology education.

Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
